We picked up a 2008 prius today and I am astounding by all the pretty gizmos and gadgets in this car. Actually its kind of 1 big gadget. I drive about 40,000 miles a year, and the little econobox I was using was not the most comfortable or efficient ride out there to say the least.

It has a back up camera? COOL

Not sure how to turn on the radio just yet.

Isn't the Prius one of the cars with the voice activated controls? I think you just say, "Radio on" or something of that sort - I could be wrong though.

:) I tried talking to it. It just seems to be all creepy and silent. Kinda like me. Black car that moves almost silently. YAY Stealth car.

I figured out the radio, cruise control is next. I think I need to think about what speed I want to go, or lick the rear view mirror or something.

For cruise control licking the rear view mirror sounds like a good plan - either that or in a commanding voice tell the Prius, "Make it so."

Perhaps there's a magic stick you need to wave around foolishly to turn on the car's accessories, a la Wii. I'm sure someone has a Harry Potter wand you can borrow for this purpose.

Kewl. I assume eventutally you'll figure out all the toys and gizmos, plus probably add a few of your own.

Does this mean you got rid of the Scion?

Aye. The box is sold. 30 mpg was not cutting it. I needed 2 fuel up every 1-2 days.

Understandable. I really don't know how you can commute like you do, but I guess that even when you lived in NYC it took just as long. I like my 20 minute drive with traffic, 10 without.

:) I would love to figure out how to turn the back up camera on while driving, so as to properly mock the other motorists.
